Proposed Framework: The services described on this page are not yet operational. NAISAR is a community-developed proposal seeking government mandate. If you need help now, call 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732) or 000 in an emergency.

For Police

NAISAR transforms police response to domestic and family violence by delivering real-time intelligence, streamlining information access, and coordinating multi-agency responses from the moment you receive the call.

Operational Advantages

Police officers face extraordinary challenges in domestic violence response. You arrive at volatile scenes with limited information, make split-second decisions that affect lives, and manage complex cases that span months or years. NAISAR gives you the tools to do this work more safely, more effectively, and with greater confidence.

Complete situational awareness: Once operational, NAISAR will deliver the victim's protection tier, the offender's compliance history, outstanding warrants, previous incidents, current orders, and risk assessment summaries directly to your mobile data terminal. You will know what you are walking into.

Reduced administrative burden: Incident reports entered through COPS will flow automatically into NAISAR. Evidence submitted by victims through the NAISAR app will appear in your case files without manual transfer. Compliance monitoring data will update without your intervention. You will spend less time on paperwork and more time on policing.

Coordinated response: When you identify a victim who needs protection or an offender who requires monitoring, NAISAR will coordinate the rest. Caseworkers will be assigned automatically. Protection measures will activate immediately. Other agencies will receive notifications through their own systems. You will not be left managing the entire response alone.

Enhanced officer safety: Real-time alerts about offender movements, weapon access, or compliance breaches will give you advance warning of dangers. Location data and boundary monitoring will help you anticipate encounters. You will make better tactical decisions with better information.

Dashboard Preview

The proposed NAISAR police dashboard is designed to present critical information in formats intended for rapid comprehension under operational pressure. Key dashboard elements include:

  • Active Alerts Panel: Real-time display of boundary breaches, compliance failures, emergency activations, and system-generated risk escalations for your patrol area.
  • Person Summary Card: When you query a person, a concise card will display current protection tier, active orders, recent incidents, compliance status, and risk flags. All information will be sourced from live NAISAR data.
  • Incident Timeline: Visual chronology of all NAISAR-relevant events for a person or location, enabling rapid pattern recognition and historical context.
  • Task List: Outstanding follow-up actions, scheduled welfare checks, and pending compliance reviews assigned to you or your unit.
  • Map View: Geographic display of active protection zones, recent alert locations, and patrol-relevant incidents in your area of operations.

The dashboard integrates with existing COPS terminals and mobile data terminals. No additional hardware is required. Interface training takes approximately two hours and is delivered through online modules and practical exercises.

Alert Response Protocols by Tier

NAISAR generates different categories of alerts requiring different police responses. Understanding these protocols ensures that you respond appropriately to each alert type:

  • Standard Tier Alerts: Boundary breaches or missed check-ins for Standard tier cases generate advisories to patrol units. No immediate response is required unless the breach occurs in proximity to the victim. Log the alert and maintain situational awareness.
  • Enhanced Tier Alerts: Boundary breaches for Enhanced tier cases generate priority notifications to the assigned patrol unit and duty sergeant. Attend the victim's location to verify safety unless the breach is clearly distant and incidental. Document attendance and any actions taken.
  • Critical Tier Alerts: Any alert for Critical tier cases generates immediate dispatch with code response. Attend the victim's location as the highest priority task. Notify supervising sergeant and consider additional unit backup. Contact the victim through NAISAR secure channel if safe to do so.
  • Emergency Activations: Victim-initiated emergency alerts through the NAISAR app generate immediate dispatch with code one response. Treat as emergency incident with potential imminent danger. Dispatch nearest available units. Notify supervising officer and consider air wing or tactical response where available.
  • AI Guardian Predictive Alerts: System-generated alerts based on pattern analysis generate intelligence briefings to domestic violence units and patrol supervisors. Review patterns, consider proactive patrols, and update victim caseworkers with observations.
